OPENBOOK INSTITUTE events are intimate
and targeted. Instead of large groups of participants
from different management levels, we aim for a focused
participant base of 35 - 50 executives who can interact
on discussion topics at a peer level.
Our expert practitioners - including speakers,
discussion group leaders and presenters - are selected
based on the organisations that they represent, the experiences
they have had and their willingness to openly share their
highs and lows with the group.
When we've asked you in the past how you'd
like to see sessions presented, "Death-by-Powerpoint"
isn't usually among the suggestions. With this in mind
we work with our presenters to ensure that powerful messages
are conveyed in a way that connects with you. We actively
promote presentation styles that encourage interaction
and discussion - not one-sided slideshows based on stats
and ego.
Our event solution providers are also carefully
selected in order to complement the themes and topics
treated at the event. Their relevance is key to rounding
out the community of attendees at an OPENBOOK conference,
and their focus is on building relationships - not just
on making their next sale.
Finally, we want all our participants to
experience our events in an environment that maximizes
their ability to relax, participate and generate ideas.
To that end we present our events in spaces that allow
for interaction and convenience, and in cities which inspire
creativity and action. Whenever possible we create learning
environments which feature natural light - not the typical
basement ballrooms of a hotel - and we strive to make
even mealtimes an opportunity to enjoy quality cuisine
as well as lively discussions with your peers.
